Claude Hits the Lawyer’s Desk — Today’s AI Roundup
The headline today is domain penetration. Anthropic dropped the full Claude for Legal package — 20+ MCP connectors plus 12 practice plugins. Same day, Google baked Gemini Intelligence into Android, and OpenAI’s GPT-5.5 Instant settled in as the default ChatGPT model.
01 · MAINClaude for Legal — 20 connectors, 12 plugins
+ 12 practice plugins
DocuSign · Ironclad · iManage · NetDocuments · LexisNexis · Thomson Reuters · Box · Everlaw · LSuite hook in directly as connectors. Twelve practice plugins cover Commercial · Corporate (M&A) · Employment · Privacy · Product · Regulatory · AI Governance · IP · Litigation and more.
The real signal is that Anthropic is leaning hard into the “general LLM + domain adapter” model. The Thomson Reuters partnership ships a CoCounsel Legal MCP integration so citation-backed legal answers happen inside a single Claude window. The nonprofit side is in too — Free Law Project and Justice Technology Association launched Courtroom5 and BoardWise connectors alongside.

Agent View
2026
Microsoft 365 integration is now generally available. Excel, PowerPoint, and Word work on paid plans out of the box, with Outlook still in public beta. On the Claude Code side, Agent View lets you manage multiple sessions from a single CLI screen — background jobs surface their running, completed, and failed states as a live table.
03 · GOOGLEGemini Intelligence — Android becomes an agent
“Agentic behavior that finishes tasks across apps, on top of the screen, becomes a core axis of Android.”
Update: Summer rollout on Samsung and Pixel first, broader expansion later this year. Ships with ‘Rambler’ (voice cleanup) and a natural-language widget builder. A new ‘Googlebook’ notebook line launched alongside — Gemini Intelligence bundled into the hardware. Android Auto (250M vehicles) gets unified maps + drive-thru voice ordering.
04 · OPENAIGPT-5.5 Instant is now the ChatGPT default
“GPT-5.5 Instant replaced 5.3 Instant as the ChatGPT default, and in the same week trust, ads, and deployment policy all shifted at once.”
Update: Hallucinations drop in sensitive domains like legal, medical, and finance, while latency stays at Instant levels. 5/7 — GPT-5.5-Cyber (security-only) + voice model API + ‘Trusted Contact’ + ChatGPT ad experiments. 5/11 — OpenAI Deployment Company spun out as a separate enterprise rollout arm.
05 · POSITIONHow I’m running my stack this week
Main is still Claude Opus 4.7; for coding work, I’m piloting Agent View.
Blog publishing automation — sticking with Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context). After the 5/12 Claude limit 2x bump, session stability has been noticeably better.
Piloting Agent View to consolidate trading, blog, and stats sessions on one screen. Released 5/11, so I’ll run it a week and write up a retro next week.
“If I had to compress today’s announcements into one line: this is the week AI moves inside domains and inside devices.”
— Eddie · 2026.05.13
My checklist: 1) one-week pilot of Claude Code Agent View, 2) folding the MS 365 Word add-in into my writing workflow, 3) checking the Korea release timeline for Gemini Intelligence on Android. Results in next week’s retro.
